SUBSTANCE ABUSE/ADDICTION
Abuse or addiction to mind-altering substances are often symptoms of something much deeper. I help clients delve in and discover the root causes of the abuse. Together, we create the desired “outcome goals,” and then establish accountable daily processes, in order to remove the abuse, leading to a healthier lifestyle. I am diligent and passionate about this, and hold my clients accountable through weekly or even daily measurable tasks.
I accomplish this via telephone, online, in-person sessions, outings and field trips. I’m a big fan of nature and like to incorporate outside activities to enhance gratitude and blessings.
TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS
Relationships can often be wonderful but can take a turn for the worse. Often, clients aren’t even aware of how toxic the relationship has become and remain in these unhealthy situations. Before they know it, it can lead to dangerous altercations. In these relationships, it may be difficult to identify red flags, severely draining their life force and self-worth, leading to depression, anxiety and even suicidal thoughts. I help my clients identify and recognize the reality of what is truly happening. Together, we plan solutions to return to a positive, productive, self-respectful, loving state of mind.
CODEPENDENCY
Clients who believe their feelings aren't significant, often learn to live through other people's emotions, leading to codependent behavior. The prevalence of codependency is difficult to ascertain. Some estimates suggest that over 90% of the American population demonstrates codependent behavior. Codependent relationships can often lead to anxiety, substance abuse and/or health disorders. Healthy relationships or partnerships require a certain amount of reliance on each party, however, once a person loses their own identity or self-worth, abusive behavior can occur. Everyone has strengths. I help my clients identify their own assets, self-worth and most importantly, their own needs.
